Attended Frankford High School, in Philadelphia, where he was a member of the City Championship Football Team his senior year. After graduation attended Lehigh University on a football scholarship. His studies were interrupted when he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, earned a commission as a second lieutenant and served as a part of the occupation force of Japan, where he developed a love and respect for the people of Japan. He then returned to Lehigh University, graduated with a degree in industrial engineering, and married Evelyn. Shortly after the birth of his first son, Frank III, he was recalled by the Marines and served a year in Korea during the Korean War. Upon returning, he continued his career as an industrial engineer, had his second son Doug, and earned the Professional Engineer certification. After a career in industrial engineering that took him to Allentown, PA; Lancaster, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Newton Highlands, MA; Horseheads, NY; and finally Delran, NJ, he retired and changed professions. He became a NJ Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. In that role, he volunteered and worked for a number of agencies, including Burlington County, developing and implementing programs to help people struggling with addiction. In addition to his work, he was an avid reader, enjoyed hiking with Evelyn, was a man of deep faith, and a great father. At the request of the family, services and interment will be private.
