Obituary for Jeanne Gorko

Jeanne Gorko (nee Janssens), of Willingboro, NJ passed away in the comfort of her own home while surrounded by loving family on Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Jeanne was born and raised in Belgium, and always spoke fondly of memories from “Home.” Jeanne met the love of her life, the late US Army MSgt Thomas Gorko, while he was stationed in Germany. She was the consummate military housewife, devoted to her family. The Gorkos were original Levitt owners, residing in Willingboro for 53 years until their respectful passing. Jeanne cherished the time spent with family, playing cards with military friends, shoe shopping, saying endless Novenas, and spoiling “The Smoochies” often advising all of them they were her best friends. The kind and caring legacy left behind will be cherished by many.

Jeanne was predeceased by her beloved spouse of 60 years, Thomas Gorko; siblings, Auguste Janssens and John Janssens. She is survived by her children, Patricia Bast of Toms River and Denise Logan of Willingboro; brother, Joseph Janssens of Belgium (wife Lisette); grandchildren, Michael Roberts of Sea Brite, Michelle Logan of Moorestown; nephew, Patrick Janssens of Belgium; and close family friends, Michael and Sandy Meany of Moorestown. A special heartfelt thanks to Willingboro EMS & FD , Mount Laurel EMS, Willingboro PD, and Samaritan Hospice for their unwavering care and support.

Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated in private on Saturday, May 4th at her parish, Corpus Christi Church, Willingboro, NJ 08046. Interment will follow where she will rest in peace next to her beloved husband who she so greatly missed.
