Obituary for Joan Hencheck (Seward)

Joan Hencheck (nee Seward), age 73, of Browns Mills, NJ passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019.

Joan was born in Camden, NJ and raised in Pennsauken, NJ before moving to Browns Mills, NJ where she resided for the past 40 years. She was a teacher for over 25 years in the Willingboro School system where she helped organize and run the school’s ski club. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed working with crafts and scrapbooking. Joan loved to travel, camp, and spend time with family on Long Beach Island at her family home. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with family and close friends and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.

Joan is survived by her beloved spouse of 43 years, Joseph A. Hencheck; children, Matthew Hencheck (Kimberly), Meghan Hencheck; granddaughter, Violet Hencheck; sister-in-law, Karen Seward; nephews, Gregory Seward and Gary Seward. Joan was predeceased by her brother, George “Butch” Seward.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM immediately followed by a memorial service, both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Final disposition will be private. At the request of the family, flowers are encouraged and greatly appreciated.
