Obituary for Robert Leigh Sadler

Print
Bob was born in West Philadelphia, PA. and his parents were Stephen A Sadler and Marian Sadler Cannon. He was the oldest of 3 siblings, followed by Kevin A. (Deceased) and Mark M. Sadler. He attended schools in Philadelphia through junior high school at which time his family moved to Willingboro, New Jersey where he attended John F. Kennedy High School.

While in elementary school, he decided he wanted to learn to play the violin and began taking music lessons. It became evident that Bob was extremely talented and he continued to take lessons and play for 10 years. He played with the Philadelphia All City Orchestra, and when in high school, he played in the Concert Band, Jazz Band & Orchestra. He also played with the New Jersey All State Orchestra where he was 1st violin, 1st chair. He also played with the Trenton State Orchestra as well. Upon graduating high school, he auditioned for and received a music scholarship to Northern Illinois University.

After 1 year of college, his musical interests shifted to the drums and he decided to pursue this passion by playing in various rock bands. This allowed him to travel around the country for many years until he decided to return to NJ. Once settled, he chose a career in retail management and during that time met his significant other Valerie. They enjoyed several years together until an illness lead to her untimely death.

Shortly thereafter, Bob himself began to experience some serious health issues. He battled these for a number of years until he was ultimately required to move into a nursing home at the age of 61. He continued to struggle, as his health conditions deteriorated, until he finally lost this battle.

He leaves to mourn his passing his mother & father, his youngest brother, several aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews and many beloved cousins.
