Steven Burns, a native of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on April 28 in Pennsauken, NJ.
Steve was born in 1959 to Frank and Marion Touhey Burns, the third of four children. He attended Power Memorial Academy High School in NYC where he performed in the Drama Club, Color Guard and was Editor of the school newspaper. He had a passion for theater and performed in / stage managed and directed many local theater productions. He studied Computer Science at Brooklyn College and worked in the computer field, advancing to IT Infrastructure Director for a global law firm.
He was an avid Yankee’s fan, who loved to cook and enjoyed science fiction shows. A kind and generous man, he was loved and will be remembered by his two children, Steven Jr. and Ashley; sister Dorothy, brother James (Patricia), twin brother Thomas (Regina); nieces / nephews: Jeanne Marie (Joseph), Alanna, Erin (Kevin), James (Melissa), Jessica (William), Meghan (David), Kevin. Matthew, Kimberly (Michael), Christina and grand-nieces / grand-nephews: Lily, Giuseppe, Kaitlin, Aidan, Zoey, Madailein, Murphy, Shawn, Cali, and Reagan.
His wish was to be cremated and a Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on 42 West Main Street in Moorsestown, NJ. Internment to follow the Mass at Jesus, Bread of Life Cemetery, 3055 Fostertown Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ.
