Obituary for Evelyn Beatrice Beckett (McGee)
Evelyn Beatrice Beckett (nee McGee), age 92, of Mount Laurel, NJ passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 22, 2018.
Evelyn was born July 9, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA to Irene Allen and Harry McGee. Evelyn lived in Philadelphia for over 80 years before moving to Mount Laurel. She graduated from Overbrook High School and took college courses in North Carolina before becoming a milliner. Once her daughter was born she became a stay at home mother and was deeply devoted to her family and friends, all who will deeply miss her.
Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved spouse, William B. Beckett; brother, Marcus A. Brown; sister, Jacqueline V. Bradley. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly T. Harris; grandchildren, Jennifer A. Harris and William T. Harris; son-in-law, Joseph W. Harris, Jr.; sister-in-law, Elizabeth M. Long; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1st from 10:00 to 11:00 AM immediately followed by the funeral service, both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Park in Feasterville, PA. The repass will be held at 4:15 PM at Carlucci’s on the Waterfront, 876 Centerton Road, Mount Laurel, NJ.
